“Let’s love and pray to the Virgin Mary, so that the shameless devil doesn’t lead us astray or into sin.”

This cantigas tells the story about a very pious abbess who was betrayed by the devil and was made pregnant by a man from Bologna. The nuns in the convent informed the Bishop of Cologne. The bishop came to the abbey to see for himself but the abbess prayed to the Virgin Mary who relieved her of the baby.
