Ingrieds Lilja (INGRIED BOUSSAROQUE)
Vallmusik (herd calling songs) are present on many recordings of Swedish folk music. Apparently, every shepherdess has her own melody, permitting her herd to recognize her call. The use of very high
pitches permits the sound to carry in the mountains, as it echoes through them. This composition “in the style of” the shepherd song makes allusion to two important Icelandic pieces: “Fyrri menn er fræðin kunnu” (Lilja) and “Ísland farsælda frón.”

On trouve beaucoup de « Vallmusik » (chants d’appel des troupeaux) dans les enregistrements folkloriques scandinaves. Apparemment, chaque bergère avait sa mélodie qui permettait à son troupeau de la
reconnaître. L’utilisation de notes très aigües favorise la propagation du son dans les montagnes, porté par l’écho. Cette composition « dans le style » des chansons de bergers fait un clin d’oeil à deux pièces islandaises majeures: Fyrri menn er fræðin kunnu (Lilja) et Ísland farsælda frón.
